Training & Consultancy

A full range of support is available to schools to help introduce, establish and embed the principles and practices of Think2Read.

These include:

> Introductory INSET training to introduce staff to both the theory and underpinning principles of Think2Read and an introduction to the programme and resources. The day includes how to develop the Team Skills approach essential to establishing effective independent group work as well as exploring the key elements of successful reciprocal reading comprehension.

> Advanced INSET training for those schools completing Year 1 of Think2Read and ready to develop the programme using quality children’s literature across the school to embed the comprehension strategies.

> Bespoke consultancy is also available to schools to help support the development of the programme across the whole school depending on needs and priorities and may include;

  • support for leaders in developing a whole school consistent approach
  • in class support and modelling of both Team Skills and comprehension sessions
  • twilight sessions to help review and reflect on the programme to support impact
  • support in developing the accompanying assessment programme

Costs for whole school INSET training are £650 per day.
Consultancy is charged at a day rate of £450. Half days and twilights at £220
All cost exclude travel which will be charged in addition along with overnight accommodation if required.
