TEAM-Building in the Classroom
How does TEAM-Building support children’s reading & group learning?
TEAM skills actively support the way children organise themselves and interact with each other during independent reciprocal group reading and learning tasks. However for team-work to become established and effective in the classroom, young children need to recognise the team skills, talents and potential they already possess and learn:-
how to model them for others to assimilate,
how to assume different roles and responsibilities to complete a task effectively,
how to participate in active and respectful listening and discussion ,
how to help one another to master content, give and receive constructive criticism, and manage disagreements.
T.E.A.M-building = Together Everyone Achieves More. The Think2Read Reciprocal TEAM lessons and resources provide a generic framework for children of all ages and abilities. The package includes an easy-to-apply set of team skills and roles that supports independent learning and enquiry across the curriculum.
